Job description

The Purchase Account Manager directly reports to the Purchase Account Team Leader.

He/she manages a large portfolio of suppliers and executes the Purchase team strategy in order to negotiate the best purchasing conditions from the laboratories he/she works with on a national and international level.

The creates and maintains partnerships with existing suppliers. He/she prepares the negotiation strategy with each supplier and negotiates the purchasing conditions according to the expected profitability objectives of the company and by guaranteeing the best price.

Purchasing responsibilities

o     In collaboration with the Purchase Account Team Leader, implement the Purchase strategy;

o     Manage a portfolio of suppliers in a specific product category;

o     Negotiate with suppliers on purchase prices, delivery and purchasing conditions, trade marketing budget and the overall relationship with the suppliers;

o     Be in charge of developing and maintaining strong and loyal partnerships with existing suppliers (pharmaceutical laboratories) ;

o     Define standard specifications and ensure the administrative processing of files in order to facilitate the process of purchase;

o     Ensure the follow-up of commercial opportunities in order to constantly improve the profitability of the purchasing process;

o     Ensure the administrative follow-up of your portfolio and suggest improvement processes;

o     Support corrective actions when lacks in deliveries are identified;

o     Keep informed on the different topics related to the portfolio of laboratories (deliveries/ payment/marketing action) and help the different departments if a point is blocking;

o     Collaborate with other departments within the organization so that purchases are made according to their needs, taking into account the general interests in terms of profitability for the whole organization;

o     Keep constantly informed of changes and developments in the field of purchasing, to strengthen the performance of the service.

o     Be the point of contact between Newpharma and suppliers;

o     Be informed of the different status of projects in the different departments in order to be able to use it in negotiations;

o     Sign the annual contracts;

o     Analyse continuously your suppliers‘ portfolio and the various projects related to it (to be defined with manager);

o     Keep up to date on the use of all the purchasing department's internal programs.

Job requirements

  • You have a degree in business economics, commerce or equivalent

  • You have at least 5 years of experience, ideally in a pharma or parapharmacy sector;

  • You are an excellent negociator and have a strong commercial/purchasing experience;

  • You have excellent interpersonal skills (ability to build long term relationships);

  • You are goal driven, flexible and capable of working in a fast-paced environment;

  • You are determinate, result driven, have audacity and competitive spirit;

  • You own a strong analytical mind and are solutions-oriented;

  • The Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) suite is not a secret for you and you are familiar with PowerBI;

  • You have a large degree of autonomy, excellent organization, prioritization and multi-tasking skills;

  • You are proactive and have a hands-on attitude;

  • You are fluent in French and English and Dutch or German is a very strong asset.
